This proposal will suit young and old alike. The centre represents a town with 117 life-size replicas of important monuments and attractions from Spanish cities. So, in just a small space, you are able to visit a typical Andalusian neighbourhood and walk a stretch of the Way of St James. Poble Espanyol features an area dedicated to crafts where you can buy unique pieces of pottery, glassware, leather goods and jewellery. Restaurants with history

We will now introduce you to some of the oldest restaurants in Barcelona. They are found in the Gothic Quarter and the surrounding area and offer a good opportunity to enjoy traditional local cuisine.

One of the most iconic is the 'Can Culleretes', which in its early days specialised in a dessert that you simply must try on your visit: crema Catalana. For its part, '7 Portes' is one of the 120 oldest restaurants in all of Spain. '4 Gats' and 'Can Pitarra' are famous for having been the hang-outs of artists. The first of these was frequented by the likes of Picasso, Gaudí and Rusiñol. The second was the setting of well attended literary discussions.

Other acclaimed restaurants in Barcelona that have been around for decades include 'Los Caracoles', 'Can Ramonet', 'La Bodegueta', 'Can Pineda' and 'El Señor Parellada'.

Barcelona Zoo

Dolphins, Iberian wolves, tropical birds, gorillas, titi monkeys (the smallest monkeys in the world)... And even a children's zoo where young children can see farm animals and ride a pony. Children will want to spend hours and hours here as there is so much to see.

The zoo is situated in Ciutadella Park, very close to the Born neighbourhood and Gothic quarter. At the entrance to the park, don’t forget to take a photo under the Barcelona Arc d’Trionf.

An afternoon of shopping

We have already mentioned Passeig de Gracia and its exclusive brands. Also, the Born district and its cutting-edge fashion. But Barcelona is a shopping destination and that’s something you’re going to discover. Take note of Avenida Diagonal that connects the Camp Nou stadium and the Sagrada Familia. Here you will find the best brands, home decoration and premium accessory shops, two El Corte Inglés department stores and the Diagonal Mar Shopping centre.

And how about a trip to a wonderful outlet paradise selling top brands? Just 40 minutes from the centre of Barcelona is La Roca Village, with more than 130 boutiques. There is also a luxury bus service direct from Passeig de Gràcia. Also, less than half an hour away, you can visit The Style Outlets Viladecans centre.
