Gorbeia Natural Park
Landscapes worth a visit
This natural park is located in the Basque Country, between the provinces of Álava and Vizcaya and has as its summit Mount Gorbeia (1,482 meters), the highest elevation in both and one of the most popular destinations for Basque hikers. Its landscapes, as well as its diversity of flora and fauna, have a special beauty about them.
This nature reserve has authentic mountain wildlife and cliff‑dwelling life. Some of the most notable species include the marten (Martes martes), wildcat (Felis sylvestris), red deer (Cervus elaphus), goshawk (Accipiter gentilis), sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) and the booted eagle (Hieraaetus pennatus).
