Madrid Planetarium

Madrid

Located on a viewing point in the Tierno Galván Park, it has its own planetarium and several rooms designed to offer an entertaining way to learn more about the world of astronomy.

Created primarily for the purpose of teaching and informing, one of its objectives is to encourage interest in the cosmos through exhibitions, talks, courses, concerts and workshops for a public of all ages. The multimedia projections which are held in the main room of the planetarium are screened using a multivision system comprising 100 slide projectors which fill the hole of the dome with images to produce a panoramic effect. It also has 50 special effects projectors capable of simulating the solar system, exploding stars, black holes, galaxies… But the most important feature is the star projector, which offers a highly realistic recreation of a starry night. The Planetarium also has three exhibition areas and a 28-metre high observation tower with a large professional telescope inside.
