Paredes de Nava

Palencia

Paredes de Nava is located in the heart of the Palencia region of Tierra de Campos, a historic town famous for being the birthplace of illustrious people, including the poet Jorge Manrique (15th century) and the artists Alonso and Pedro Berruguete (15th-16th centuries). One of the jewels of its old town is the Church of Santa Eulalia and its Parish Museum, both declared historic and artistic monuments in 1981.The temple, across from Plaza de España, was built between the 13th and 16th centuries, so you can appreciate the fusion of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles.Outside, the building stands out for the singularity of its Romanesque tower, topped by a pyramidal spire covered with tiles. Inside, you find the Main Altarpiece, the work of Pedro Berruguete. The Parish Museum of Santa Eulalia, located within the ecclesiastical premises, is considered one of the most important in Castile and Leon. Its rooms house a valuable collection of paintings and sculptures made by Castilian artists from the 15th to the 17th centuries, as well as several works from the Spanish-Flemish school and various pieces of goldsmithing.
